"Part X-Files, part Angel, Torchwood is the team we’d all love to be part of, where excitement comes before morality and the rules are made as you go along."
Mousehouse and I are impatiently waiting for Torchwood to begin. Anything that is part X-Files, part Angel has to be good! Apparently this is season one, since it's being touted as the "series premiere." Will Spike be in season two?

JM is going to to be in at least one episode of Season Two.
Torchwood is good, but I wouldn't say it's anything like Angel. It's more scifi than supernatural, but I still like it quite a lot. It's an "adult" spin-off of Doctor Who, but instead of traveling through time and space, they solve cases out of a secret base in Cardiff, Wales.
Hope you guys enjoy!
I've seen all of Season One already, but I'm still going to tune in to tonight's premiere.

The Season One DVD comes out here in The States On January 8th. What did you on MH think of it, HFM? The next episode is one of my least favorites, so don't judge the series by it.

Eh, it was okay, nothing to write home about. It's no "X-Files," that's for sure. But we'll probably continue to watch it unless something better comes along.

It's one of those shows that takes a while to find it's groove. I'd say the first half of the season was a bit hit-or-miss, but if you stick with it, it really picks up after that. Enough so that I'm looking forward to Season Two.

Next week's episode, "Countrycide", is one that the fans either really like or REALLY hate. I liked it, btw.

I completely disagree with all the comparisons made in the description above, I don't see any of that.
But I LOVE this show! I don't know what you're talking about Ratboy, this show grabbed me right from the get go and hasn't loosened its grip yet!
Someone made a point about screaming at Gwen to stop doing stupid stuff. You'd think a cop would know better, but oh well. I don't scream, more like scold. But I still love the show.
One of the things that is cracking me up is how, er, responsive Gwen is! Pretty much snogs anyone who comes near her! True, they grab her first but damn if she doesn't grab right back! LOL

I enjoyed this past week's episode -- Out of Time -- but it left me with a couple of nits to pick. One, how did the Torchwood team know that the airplane was coming? They were there waiting when the plane landed. And two, when Diane left, how did she manage to go through the portal again? I mean, I'm sure dozens of airplanes use the Cardiff airport on a daily basis; the odds of one going through the portal have to be infinitessimal. Wouldn't it have been more likely that she would just fly around for a few hours, until her fuel ran low, and then land right back in Cardiff in 2007?
We are enjoying the show; I just notice things like that!

Yeah, it was a bit convenient that that she was able to go through the rift again. As for why the team was there, I assumed that they had some sort of detector that alerted them to the temporal shift, though they never said. Just announced- Season Two begins Jan. 26th! LINKThough the article is a bit confusing. Is BBC America going to run it during it's first run in the UK?

I loved it this past week when the cop called Jack and Gwen "Mulder and Scully!"
And was that monster at the end the cheesiest monster ever, or what? That part reminded me a bit of Angel; that's the first time I've thought that.

From everything I've been reading, Season Two will start airing on BBCA in late January. Yeah!

Looks like we'll be about 10 behind the UK. TW is premiering January 16th there.
