This time last year I was so psyched! New shows, returning favorites...and then the writer's strike.
I never finished Chuck, cannot remember Heroes, and never even gave shows I liked a chance. Of course I stuck to Lost and BSG like glue, the two shows I adore got a nice boost from the captive audience.
So now I ask, what do we have to look forward to this year? I know I've seen a few, but have seemed to block them out. So let's hear about them.
And if this thread is already existing somewhere just point me at it.

I haven't seen any "new" shows that interest me much. I'm excited about the 2nd seasons of Chuck, Pushing Daisies, and Sarah Connor Chronicles. I'm currently enjoying Burn Notice, In Plain Sight, The Closer, and The Middleman.

I'm not seeing much buzz for new shows. I keep forgetting USA. They have great shows. Burn Notice is really a fun show, I just wish Fee would gain just a few pounds so that when I see her in those tiny tops I'm not tempted to count her ribs.

So far the best part of the fall TV season has been the return of last year's new shows: Chuck, Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Pushing Daisies. I'm loving every one of them!
So far I haven't gotten hooked on any of this season's new shows. Here's what I've seen so far:
Watched the pilot of Fringe, and was NOT impressed at all. The premise is just too outlandish, even for an old X-Phile like me. Haven't watched it since.
Watched The Mentalist a couple of times, and can take it or leave it. It's basically Psych with less comedy.
Checked out the pilots of Life on Mars and Eleventh Hour. Mars was interesting just because of the setting in 1973, but again the premise is just too shaky, and I don't see how they can keep going with it. Eleventh Hour is probably the best of the bunch so far, but after one episode it's hard to say.
I've got the pilot of My Own Worst Enemy on DVR, but haven't watched it yet.

Oh, almost forgot: watched about half of the pilot of Kath and Kim before my internal barfometer made me switch channels.

I was going to watch Kath & Kim despite the fact that I'm not a Selma Blair fan. Sounds like I didn't miss much. So, Molly Shannon is supposed to be Blair's mother? She's only like 8 years older than her.
I've watched a few new shows, but mostly I too have been watching my favorites from last season- Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Heroes.
I'm undecided about Fringe. It's growing on me, but it's not "Must See" for me.
Saw the premiere of The Mentalist. Like it okay, but haven't watched the DVR'd episodes yet.
I liked My Own Worst Enemy alright until it occurred to me that while they explain the who's and how's quite well, they never really explain the whole "why".
Haven't seen Eleventh Hour. I forget when it was coming on so I'll try to bittorrent it.
I caught the unaired pilot of Life on Mars this summer. I thought it was pretty good, but it's undergone major recasting since then. I tried watching the original British version and while I liked it okay, I just couldn't get into it. I may give this US version a shot.

We got around to watching My Own Worst Enemy Wednesday evening, and we basically had the same response as you: Why?
Watched the second episode of Life on Mars last night. Again, I'm just having trouble suspending reality enough, or something. Plus, the depiction of Harvey Keitel and the other police officers in 1973 as being so corrupt and unmindful of the law doesn't seem accurate to me. I was 14 in 1973, and while it was certainly a less enlightened time than 2008, it wasn't the Dark Ages, either.
There's just something about this whole crop of new shows this year, the premises all seem just too outlandish. Too many unanswered "Whys."

Monday nights drive me crazy! At 7:00pm there are three things I want to watch on- Sarah Connor Chronicles, Chuck, and The Big Band Theory (and How I Met Your Mother). I wind up DVRing BBT & HIMYM, watching SCC, and watching Chuck online.

We have the same problem, except we're not fans of the BBT. Our solution is to DVR Chuck and Sarah Connor, and watch the half-hour HIMYM online.

Christian Slater's My Own Worst Enemy just bit the dust. Guess I'll just delete the episodes I have DVR'd.

I watched the pilot of My Own Worst Enemy, and just didn't enjoy it enough to watch any more. Apparently I'm not alone. The premise was just too far-fetched: why did this guy have to have his memory erased, and live a double life? I didn't get it.
Of the new shows, Eleventh Hour is the only one we watch regularly. I've given up on Life on Mars and The Mentalist. Still enjoying the 2nd year shows Chuck, Pushing Daisies, and Sarah Connor.
