As unbelievable as it sounds... LINKGreat to hear, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm with you: I'll believe it when I see it. It does seem more likely if they do it as a direct-to-DVD movie, so maybe there's some hope after all.
Just curious: what role would Alan Tudyk play? A ghostly, Obi-Wan type Wash, coming back to whisper words of wisdom to Zoe and Mal?

Yeah, I'd think it would be Direct-to-DVD also.
Maybe both Wash and Book would show up in flash-backs. Or maybe it would be a prequel to Serenity. Who knows. If Joss is actually involved, I'm sure he'll figure it out.

More on this story from "Ain't it Cool News"- I'd say that they chances are better that it was a misquote than that Universal is willing to green-light a new movie.

I have the old version, got it as a gift! How much better/different is the new one?

It's not much different, just has more bells an whistles. In addition to the original Joss Whedon commentary (which is excellent btw), there is an additional commentary featuring Joss, Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, Summer Glau, & Ron Glass. All the original disc's bonus features are there plus a few extras including extended scenes, the "Session 416" viral videos that were released on the 'net, and more. If none of that other junk interest you, there's no need to upgrade.
