SelectSmartVoteMatchA couple of quizzes that attempt to match you to your "ideal" candidate.
VoteMatch is using the 2004 presidential candidates; I'm not sure when or if they'll update. My political philosophy is Libertarian-leaning liberal -- imagine that! I most closely matched Ralph Nader, followed by John Kerry.
SelectSmart uses the "declared" 2008 candidates. It doesn't categorize your philosophy. My best matches were Dennis Kucinich, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Al Gore. At which point I said, "Dennis Kucinich?"

According to SelectSmart Al Gore, Dennis Kucinich, Hillary Clinton, and Joseph Biden are my top pics. Not surprisingly, Mike Huckabee scored in at 26%.

1. Theoretical Ideal Candidate (100%) 2. Barack Obama (77%) 3. John Edwards (76%) 4. Al Gore (74%) 9. Hillary Clinton (62%) 13. Michael Bloomberg (43%) 16. John McCain (36%) 17. Rudolph Giuliani (32%)
I just listed the ones who showed on my list that I actually read up on, even if just to see what they have to say, not necessarily cause I'd vote for them.
Oh and NEWT showed at the end of my list! Ewww! Real newts aer more likeable!

Select a Candidate QuizEvery time I do one of these things Dennis Kucinich comes out on or near the top. I know he's a long-shot candidate, but I guess I'd better start paying attention to him. Of course, my top matches were all Democrats; Chris Dodd was second, Hillary, Barack, and John Edwards tied for third on my list. Giuliani was the highest Republican, right behind Hillary and Co., then three more Democrats, followed by all the rest of the Republicans. Mike Huckabee, Fred Thompson, and some guy I never heard of tied for last on my list.

No real suprise, mine was almost identical to HFM's. Being an Arkansas Democrat, also no real suprise that Mike Huckabee brought up the rear with a whopping 6%.

Our illustrious ex-governor is at it again:
from Deceiver.com "Mike Huckabee, says that, unlike the Bible, the U.S. Constitution was designed to be amended. Here’s the exact quote:
'My point was that the Constitution was a document, it’s a living, breathing document written in order that it could be changed. The Scriptures, however, were not written so that we would change them to adapt them to ever-changing cultural norms.'
This is why he’s against gay marriage, apparently. But wait, what does he say on his site about judges trying to legislate from the bench? The quote:
'I firmly believe that the Constitution must be interpreted according to its original meaning, and flatly reject the notion of a “living Constitution.” The meaning of the Constitution cannot be changed by judicial fiat.'
Which is it? Either it’s a living, breathing document or it isn’t. Unless it’s some sort of… zombie Constitution? That would be pretty cool. I actually might have stayed awake in class if the Constitution were trying to eat people’s brains."

Vote MatchI used the Vote Match survey (it's been updated for 2008) and came up with these results:
I match Hillary Clinton 70% Barack Obama 65% Dennis Kucinich 58% Mike Gravel 58% (Who?) Cynthia McKinney 55% (Green Party) John Edwards 55%
The rest all matched 30% or less, and of course were all Republicans, while the above are all Democrats except McKinney.
One surprise was that I matched so poorly with Edwards, but the biggest surprise was that someone named Duncan Hunter actually matched me less (3%) than Mike Huckabee (5%).

I am starting to think about voting for Hillary. I've been watching her and Obama, and I think they would be great together. This has nothing to do with the fact that we get out early tomorrow because she is coming to our building for a rally. Though it's open to the public, I don't think I'll stick around for it. She better bring a case of purell too. The Flu is running rampant through these parts.
