I'm starting out the new year with a bang. I had the worst sinus headache all night long so I didn't sleep well. Then when I was finally sleeping well, I heard the cats banging around and woke up.
Thirty minutes later I got up to get ready for work and when I walked out into the living room I was shocked. There was BLOOD every. It looked like a freakin' massacre had taken place. I looked around for all the cats. Sly was lying on the back of the couch looking normal. Grace was circling my feet as usual and Thames had run into the bed room and jumped on the bed as she does every morning.
Upon further investigation, I found that Thames had a small cut on her back right foot, but it appeared to have quit bleeding and she didn't seem so me hurting so I decided to just keep an eye on it. I cleaned up the living room and tried to figure out what she could have cut it on but didn't find anything.
I went back to check on her. She started licking it and shook her foot. Blood shot out all over my bed. I quickly grabbed her and brought her to work. The doctor sedated her and figured out what happened. Apparently she was getting down from my entertainment center this morning and got her toe caught on something. She broke her toe and the bone poked out and cut the blood vessel. She's doing fine (and a little calmer for the moment thanks to the the gas they gave her). She didn't need stitches but she does have to wear a pressure wrap up to her knee for a week. Wish me (and her) luck.
